Frequently Asked Questions

About Our Process

What do your packages include?

Our full day packages are built around a mix of digital and film photography, giving you both the crisp, timeless quality of digital and the soft, romantic feel of film. Every collection can be tailored to fit your day, with the option to add an engagement session, Super 8 video, and heirloom albums designed to hold your story for years to come.

Can I see a full wedding gallery?

Absolutely. We have a good selection of galleries right here on the site, but if you'd like to see a full client gallery from start to finish, just ask and we'll happily send a few your way so you can get a real feel for how we tell a whole day's story.

Do you give out the raw files?

We don't, and there's real thought behind that. Beyond the fact that raw files eat up a huge amount of space on your computer, they simply don't represent our work the way the finished images do. Editing and photo selection are a big part of our craft, and we take pride in protecting the quality and consistency of everything that carries our name. We capture as much as we possibly can throughout the day, which means some frames naturally come out with a blink, a soft focus, or an awkward angle. The raw files are a means to an end for us. What we hand you is the polished, most beautiful version of your day.

Do you shoot video too?

We do, and we've fallen head over heels for it. Cinematography has become one of our favorite ways to relive a wedding day, and we offer dedicated video packages to match. You can see some of our films on the site, and we'd love for you to reach out if you're thinking about video for your own day.

Where are you located?

We're Brooklyn people through and through, but we're available worldwide. Pick the time and the place, and we'll be there.

Who will be shooting my wedding day?

You have options. We offer packages with our founders and lead photographers, Gui Benites & Joe Freyta, as well as packages with our wonderful associate photographers, so there's a fit for every couple and every budget.

What is your photography and editing style?

Think of it as an elegant journalistic eye with a touch of fashion editorial. We're documenting real moments as they unfold, but always with an eye for light, styling, and the kind of imagery you'd expect to see in a magazine.

What camera gear do you use?

We're one of the very few wedding photographers shooting with Leica. We've been steadily transitioning to Leica so we can offer some of the finest imaging in the world to our clients. Beyond that, we work exclusively with high-end full-frame cameras, prime lenses, and professional lighting, which is to say, the good stuff.

Before Your Wedding

Do you have any timeline examples?

Yes, we do! You can request a timeline example send us an email, and we will be more than happy to help you out with that if you have any questions or need any help.

How do we book with you and how do we pay?

To lock in your date, we need a signed contract and a 50% retainer. All payments can be made online and/or via check.

Do you have business insurance?

We sure do! Our insurance covers up to 2 million dollars, and we are always able to provide a custom COI if needed for the venue.

Do you travel and do destination weddings?

Yes! We love traveling and shooting weddings all over the world, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you are planning something special in a different city or even a different country!

During Your Wedding

Do we need a second shooter?

For larger weddings, we usually recommend a second shooter so no detail or moment slips by. That said, every wedding is different, so we talk it through together during booking to land on what actually makes sense for your day.

My partner isn't really into taking photos, can you give us directions?

Of course. Most of our couples have never been in front of a camera before, and honestly, that's not their job. We guide you through it in a relaxed, easygoing way so the photos come out natural, comfortable, and flattering for everyone involved.

I love your documentary style but do you also take posed photos?

Definitely. Our approach leans photojournalistic and natural, but we always carve out time for a few more formal portraits at every wedding. We'll even ask for a family portrait list ahead of time so we're sure to capture the people and combinations that matter most to you.

Do you have reviews from past couples?

Absolutely, that’s one of the most important tools we have to show how pleased our clients are with the outcome of our work. Please visit our reviews page on our website under 'testimonials'.

After Your Wedding

How will we receive our images and how many photos will you deliver? How long does it usually take to receive our photos?

You'll receive a beautiful online gallery where you can download, print, and share every photo, and we offer heirloom albums as an add-on too. The final count depends on how long your day runs, but we typically deliver at least 100 images per hour of coverage. You'll get a sneak peek the week after your wedding so you can start reliving it right away, with the full gallery arriving 6 to 8 weeks later.

Do you offer albums?

We do, and they're one of our favorite things. There's something irreplaceable about holding your day in your hands on real, high quality paper rather than only seeing it on a screen. Reach out by email and we'll share all the details on albums and prints.

Engagement Sessions

Do you shoot engagement sessions?

We do, and we can't recommend them enough. An engagement session is a wonderful way for us to get to know you, and for you to get comfortable in front of the camera long before the wedding day. As a little thank you, we offer discounted session packages exclusively for our wedding couples, and we'll walk through those options together during booking.

Where/when do you shoot engagements?

We love choosing a spot that actually means something to you, whether that's your own neighborhood, the coffee shop you're always at, or the pizza place you can't stay away from. The whole city is our canvas and we're excited to explore it with you. Our favorite light happens during golden hour, the hour or two before sunset or in the quiet just after sunrise, but we'll always work around your schedule to find the time that fits.
