Ashley and Stephen's Moody and Ultra-chic NYC Wedding

Ashley and Stephen got married at New York City Hall and then we headed over to one of our favorite places to shoot at: The Beekman Hotel. The courthouse and the City Building gave the day that classic NYC feel, and The Beekman brought the drama. If you have never been inside, the hotel is built around this stunning nine story atrium with vintage ironwork and light that turns gold in the afternoon. It is the kind of space that does half the work for you, moody and grand and intimate all at once.

We moved through the hotel chasing little moments as they happened. A quiet pause on the grand staircase, a burst of laughter down one of the velvet lined hallways, the two of them just being themselves. The Beekman has so much texture and history to it, but it never took over. It just gave Ashley and Stephen a beautiful place to be together, and their chemistry did the rest.

That is really what the whole afternoon felt like. Two people in love in one of the most storied buildings in the city, and us lucky enough to be there documenting everything.
